Privacy Policy

I. INTRODUCTION


Welcome to the QMP Plastic Surgery Pulse eLearning Center (the "eLearning Center"), the ultimate online plastic surgery destination. This Privacy Policy describes how Quality Medical Publishing, Inc. ("QMP," "we," or "us") collects, uses and shares personal information obtained from you when you visit the eLearning Center, including the main domain and any sub-domains, as well as the features, functionality, applications, content, products and services made available by QMP on or through the website, and describes your privacy choices when accessing and using the eLearning Center.

Your Consent to this Privacy Policy. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using the eLearning Center, whether as an unregistered visitor or as a registered member, you consent to our collection, use, and sharing of personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. In addition, to become a registered member, you may be required to confirm that you have read and accepted this Privacy Policy.

Changes to this Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any amendments shall be effective when posted by us on the eLearning Center or otherwise made available to you. Your access to and use of the eLearning Center after we have modified this Privacy Policy shall signify your acceptance of the amended terms. It remains your responsibility to review this Privacy Policy regularly to ensure that you are updated as to any changes.

II. HOW WE COLLECT AND USE PERSONAL INFORMATION


Personal Information You Volunteer. QMP collects any personal information that you provide while visiting or using the eLearning Center. This may include your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, and other contact information, account information, demographic and professional information, and any other personal information that you submit when registering for the eLearning Center, purchasing subscriptions, artwork, or other goods or services, posting content in the forum or other areas of the eLearning Center, or requesting that we contact you. We use this personal information to:

  • Create and validate your account;
  • Communicate with you regarding your account and the eLearning Center;
  • Fulfill orders for courses, artwork, and other goods and services;
  • Monitor and improve the quality of the eLearning Center;
  • Customize advertising and promotions on the eLearning Center;
  • As otherwise required or permitted under applicable law; and
  • For any other purpose made apparent at the time of collection.
Your Choices When Submitting Personal Information. You may be required to submit certain personal information to us (including contact information) in order to create an account, place an order, or access certain areas of the eLearning Center. By default, some of this information (including username) will be displayed and made available publicly as part of any content posted by you on the forum or other areas of the eLearning Center. In other cases, you can choose whether to provide personal information to QMP, or whether to include personal information in content submitted for posting on the forum or other areas of the eLearning Center. We urge you to carefully consider the types of personal information that you submit for posting on the eLearning Center. Automatic Collection of Information. Certain types of non-personally identifiable information may be collected automatically when you visit the eLearning Center. For example, we may collect the IP address of the computer you are using; the name of the domain and host from which you access the Internet; the Internet address of the Web site from which you linked to the eLearning Center; the type of browser you are using; time and date stamp information; and information regarding your visit to the eLearning Center, including your landing page, the number and order of pages viewed, and the time spent on a particular page. We do not treat this information as personal information, unless it is combined with information that personally identifies you.

Cookies. Like many websites, we may use session-based or persistent "cookies" or similar technologies to automatically gather some information about you or offer a personalized experience when using the eLearning Center. We may use these technologies to enhance navigation, log account information, log click-stream data for advertisers, and facilitate your use of the eLearning Center. Some areas of the eLearning Center may require cookies, and cannot be used without enabling cookies. If you are concerned about cookies stored on your computer, we encourage you to follow your Internet browser's guidance for deleting cookies after completing a browsing session.

III. HOW WE SHARE PERSONAL INFORMATION


Service Providers. We may share personal information collected through the eLearning Center with companies that perform services on our behalf, including companies that provide support services to us (such as data storage and web hosting services) or that help us market our products and services. Credit card processing is handled by our service providers, and subject to the privacy policies and practices of the credit card processor.

Business Partners. We do not rent or sell your personal information to unaffiliated third parties for mass marketing purposes. We may share personal information collected through the eLearning Center with our affiliated companies and strategic business partners. These affiliates and business partners may use the information to contact you about products or services that may be of interest, to improve the quality and relevance of their products and services, or as otherwise required or permitted under applicable law.

Law Enforcement and Protection. We may disclose your personal information when we believe disclosure is appropriate to comply with the law (including a court order or subpoena); to prevent or investigate a possible crime, such as fraud or identity theft; to enforce the terms that govern your use of the eLearning Center; or to protect the rights, property or safety of QMP, other visitors to the eLearning Center, or third parties. We also reserve the right to report to appropriate law enforcement or government agencies any activities that we, in good faith, believe to be harmful or unlawful, with or without providing notice to you.

Business Transfers. All personal information and other content submitted by you to the eLearning Center is treated as a business asset, and may be transferred to another company that acquires an ownership interest in the stock or assets of QMP or one of our operating divisions, including as the result of a sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution or liquidation.

IV. PRIVACY PRACTICES OF THIRD PARTIES


Use of Your Personal Information and Content by Third Parties. Please consider carefully the types of personal information and other content that you post on the eLearning Center. Many areas of the eLearning Center, including the forum, may be viewed by both members and non-registered visitors. We have no control over how other users may respond to, use, or misuse the information that you post on the eLearning Center, or for any actions taken by other users online or offline. For instance, it is possible for other users to obtain personal information about you that you post or make available on the forum, and to use that information to send you unsolicited communications, or to harass or injure you. We do not approve of such conduct. However, the eLearning Center and its owners, operators, affiliates, agents and suppliers (including QMP) cannot be and are not responsible for any other user's or third party's use of use of personal information or other content that you post on the eLearning Center, or for the online or offline actions of any other user or third party, and shall have no liability for any actions or inaction taken in connection therewith.

Links to Third Party Websites. The eLearning Center may contain links to other websites, including links posted by users or advertisers. We do not take any responsibility for monitoring these links, and inclusion of these links should not be construed as any sort of affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, or approval by QMP. When you access a third-party website, you do so at your own risk. You should review the privacy policies of other websites carefully before providing any information to such websites. We are not responsible or liable for any third party's information, opinions, goods or services, or for any third party website's privacy practices.

V. TERMS OF USE


This Privacy Policy, and your submission and our use of personal information, is further subject to the Terms of Use for the eLearning Center, available at http://www.plasticsurgerypulse.com/terms.php.

VI. CHILDREN


The eLearning Center is intended for and directed to adults. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly permit registration or submission of personally identifiable information by anyone under 13 years of age. If you are under the age of 13, please do not provide us with any personally identifiable information. If we are notified that someone under the age of 13 has provided us with personally identifiable information, we will use reasonable efforts to remove such personal information from our databases.

VII. ONLINE SECURITY


We implement measures to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of sensitive personal information submitted to the eLearning Center that is under our control and not otherwise publicly posted on the eLearning Center. However, please bear in mind that no website or data transmission over the Internet is totally secure. As a result, we do not guarantee the security of any personal information you provide on or through the eLearning Center.

VIII. OPT-OUT FOR COMMUNICATIONS


To opt-out of receiving communications from us (other than required communications for the eLearning Center such as account set-up, account change, and similar administrative notices), you may alter your communication setting preferences in your membership profile (where applicable), or follow any other opt-out directions provided in our email communications. Please understand that it may take some time to receive, verify and process your request.
